One of the community recipients that NCNW assists the Mars Hill Ministry under the leadership of Pastors John and Lonnie Reid. This ministry, the New Generation Outreach, is located at 1006 Princess Anne Street.
It is the express purpose of the New Generation Outreach to serve the street people and the homeless of the Fredericksburg community. In providing help and hope to the hopeless through the Gospel and love of Christ, the pastors welcome area organizations to assist in feeding the hungry with sustenance and concern.
NCNW members support The New Generation Outreach Ministry by feeding numbers of persons that may exceed 75 or more. After scripture and prayer, NCNW members, with kindness, respect, and love, serve a catered meal of delicious foods that may include Roast Beef, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Green Beans, hot buttered Rolls (donated by Golden Corral), and Dessert (cookies, brownies, and pound cake). They also participate in the service by singing Christmas songs and interacting as Pastor Reid read the scriptures.
NCNW recognizes the work that Pastors John and Lonnie Reid have been performing for five years in this community, along with help from area groups and churches. During these difficult times, to provide over 5000 meals and other essentials to street people who are stymied in their efforts to receive assistance because of behavior and addiction, NCNW salutes New Generation and is thankful to be able to give back to the community.
